The Jordanian Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship revealed last week the launch of a Jordanian national blockchain network called MODEE DLT. The network has been integrated with Sanad application for e-government services in Jordan, with the aim of enhancing trust and transparency in the application. The blockchain is planned to be integrated into several other government sectors.
The Jordanian blockchain company Blockexe developed the MODEE DLT blockchain, which was designed by Mohammed Al-Nabhan, a professor of computer science at Princess Sumaya University for Technology.
The Ministry of Digital Economy stated in its announcement that the new blockchain network is considered part of the Jordanian government’s digital transition plan (2021-2025).
It’s worth noting that Jordan ranked 66th according to the Chainalysis Global Crypto Adoption Index for 2023, making it the fifth Arab country in terms of crypto adoption, after Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, and Saudi Arabia.
